Located on the shores of one of South Goa’s last unexplored beaches, Seaesta consists of two beautiful, contemporary, Indo-Porto ‘huts’, and a stand-alone stone cottage. Look beyond the beach and find yourself surrounded by rolling forests, hills, and rivers. As a nesting site for the endangered Olive Ridley turtle, the area is covered under stringent environmental protection laws. The hosts echo the need to preserve this piece of land and take the time to provide an experience that goes hand in hand with understanding this sublime coastal ecosystem.
You’ll go back in time when you’re here – and in between the afternoon siestas and hearty Goan meals, you’ll get to soak in the absolutely magnificent scenery.
comforts
Handpicked antique furniture, warm yellow lighting, teal and white walls, delicate mosaic workmanship – that’s very much our thing. The three rooms can accommodate up to 6 people comfortably with the option of an extra bed each. The hut-like appearance comes from coconut thatch covering the rooftops, keeping the interiors cool during summer. A small patio in front and a sit-out at the back of each hut is where you’ll end up hanging out the most. The attached bathrooms are cheerful and spacious, and with the natural light filtering through, it’s almost like taking an outdoor shower!
food
The huts come equipped with a kettle and provisions for making tea and coffee. There are also a few beachside shacks around Seaesta that serve fresh seafood and other items with local and international flavours. Traditional Goan meals can also be delivered to the house and are cooked by neighbouring locals for an additional charge. Trust us, those meals will be the yummiest.
ideal for
This is the Goa your parents talked to you about, but even more serene. This is for you if you crave authenticity – an overused word that finds true meaning here.
getting there
The property is located on one of the southernmost beaches of Goa, about 2 hours from the airport. Accurate details will be provided at the time of confirmation. The stone house is operational all year while the beach huts are closed from July to October for the monsoons.
things to do
The property owners provide three adventure packages at an additional cost. The first includes a day excursion deep into a Goan wildlife reserve, you will walk through a dark canopy of trees and reach an exhilarating viewpoint atop an 82-foot treehouse.
The second is an excursion to the Goan backwaters along with a local fisherman whose family has been making a living off the waters for generations. Learn a few tricks of the trade, and witness traditional methods of crab catching using bait and traps.
Finally, enjoy a trip to a pristine waterfall a few hours from the property (seasonal).
price
The room pricing begins at Rs. 4,000 for doubles from February to November. There is a slight surcharge for the months of December and January. Prices are inclusive of accommodation and all in-house amenities.
