Cabin Fever is perfectly located away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream Pahalgam. It’s the perfect getaway to find yourself amidst nature and all the beautiful sights Pahalgam is famous for. The host, who lives in Srinagar, inherited the seventies-era cottages from her grandfather, and has restored and maintained the space for several years.
With the soft, warm sunlight, clear blue skies, crisp mountain breeze, undulating meadows of green, the notes of the blue whistling thrush, horses grazing afar, rich deodar forests, views of snow-clad mountains, and the gushing river next door, you don’t have to go to Switzerland to experience this life.

There are 2 cabins on the property set at a short distance from each other so you can enjoy peace and quiet. The main cabin has 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a large, fully functional kitchen, a living room, and a small porch. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while taking in gorgeous views of the river on one side, and snow-capped mountains on the other.
The other cabin is a little more basic. It also has 2 rooms, with a shared bathroom, and overlooks the river. The staff are very helpful and have their home next to the main cabin which is easily accessible to the guests.

At Cabin Fever, expect simple home-cooked meals (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) that offer a welcome break from the rich decadence that Kashmiri food is known for elsewhere. But you also have the option to eat in several restaurants in the main market area of Pahalgam. If you have meaty cravings, enjoy the selection of wazwan and Kashmiri pulao. Also, don’t miss out on the delectable phirni or kheer.

The property is located 4 hours from Srinagar airport. The last section can only be accessed by foot via a wooden bridge over the river. Accurate details will be given at the time of confirmation.

Once at the cabin, it will be difficult to turn down the constant invitation of the river to meet you on her banks as she boisterously makes her way through the stunning landscape. Make the most of it – have your meals on the riverside while you soak in the soft sun. Play with the waves. Get lost in the music of lilting bells that adorn resident cows as they graze and laze. Enjoy a barbecue around a lively bonfire.
There are also beautiful, easy-to-hike paths through majestic deodar forests towards nearby Gujjar villages. Snow-capped mountains will be just an arm’s reach away. Have long leisurely chats with the caretakers, they have wonderful stories to tell!
