Kashmiriyat greets you all of a sudden from behind the large gates that do not reveal the serenity that lies within. It sits right in the heart of an upscale neighbourhood in Srinagar. The bungalow is set in a tranquil area without the noise of the outside world.
The hosts live in the adjacent bungalow, separated by a trellis, for additional privacy. Kashmiriyat has been the family home for decades and is adorned with traditional Kashmiri decor and architecture.
The hosts are warm and caring and are the perfect example of famous Kashmiri hospitality. You can engage in conversations about anything under the sun and they’ll make you feel right at home.
Kashmiriyat was restored after the 2014 floods and employs three local and ever-smiling caretakers, available to assist you with anything you might need. Expect to make yourself at home here almost immediately.

The bungalow is an independent unit with a sprawling garden that offers complete privacy. The ground floor holds 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms and views of the lawn. The ground floor also has spacious, cosy living and dining rooms overlooking the garden.
You can pick one of the two rooms upstairs, both with attached bathrooms.
For larger groups, there is the option of booking the entire bungalow. The lush garden is home to a number of fruit trees and flowering plants such as pomegranate, pear, and walnut. The lawns and garden are ideal for a morning cuppa, or the classic post-dinner kahwah before calling it a night.
food
The caretakers prepare a variety of items including traditional Kashmiri dishes or North Indian cuisine. They are very accommodating in terms of customising vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.
Please note that lunch is usually not served at the cottage so one must make the necessary arrangements. Dinner is prepared on request.

Kashmiriyat is ideal if you want to experience something outside the popular Dal lake houseboat experience and would like to delve into the local lives of the main town of Srinagar.
