The cottage at Across The Pond is located on the banks of a river that empties out into the vast Vembanad lake. The 18-acre farm has been the family home for over a century. Apart from fish from the river, the farm produces coconuts, bananas, and several other fruits and vegetables. If you’re interested, the host will gladly teach you all about fish farming and even provide you with fish seed and feed. Friends of the family rallied together and encouraged the hosts to share the slow village lifestyle of Kerala’s backwater regions with travellers from outside.
Across The Pond, as the name suggests, overlooks a massive private waterbody – home to ducks, geese, tortoises, and plenty of colourful fish. A tranquil haven tucked away in the beautiful scenery, we recommend this if you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in Kerala.
