the space

Welcome to your window to the beautiful Western part of Coorg. With an expansive view of the plantation and the hills around, The Linger Farm Chettimani is an opportunity for some time to really laze, unwind, and do absolutely nothing for a couple of days. Every corner of the farm has been designed as an invitation for you to experience life on pause. Sit under a canopy of areca nut, jackfruit, and chickoo trees, book in hand.

comforts

There are four cottages spread out across the farm, providing a lot of privacy but also proximity to each other and the common dining area. They’re made of mud and brick, and furnished with handmade furniture, or

The Linger farm works in large part because of excellent design. Every space provides a sense of both privacy and communion. Corners with views always become seating spaces, the porch always has comfortable benches or recliners to take in views of the farm, the garden, or the hills.

Every room has a large double bed, and three of them have exciting loft spaces for extra room to sleep, read, or just enjoy the idea of a loft bed!

The largest cottage has a little common area to sit around with your friends or family, but you can also catch up on work sitting in the verandah.

Every room has a spacious bathroom, but you will have to inform the staff to get hot water.

There’s wifi in each cottage, in case you need to catch up on work. There are also ample books to read, games to play, and more. .

food

Food is served in the common dining area. This being a coffee plantation, expect a lot of hot coffee through the day. You can also get chai if that’s what you prefer.
Breakfasts can be either South Indian specialties – neer dosa and delectable chutney, idlis,

You can also have eggs and toast. Lunch and dinner are feasts in their own right – as long as local produce is available, you can request peppery curries (think pandi) and rice balls and have an assortment of rices and dals.

ideal for

This place is ideal if you want to do some nature tripping without being unreachable to your work peeps. But we’d urge you to leave your work at home, and come and relive your childhood here, exploring the garden and reading a gripping novel. Groups of friends or families will absolutely love it – there’s something extremely warm and inviting about a carrom board on a porch with a view of the beautiful farm.

This is the perfect place for work retreats with small teams – bond over ideas (or just use the ‘work retreat’ to relax instead) over a cup of hot tea or coffee and bhajjis.

getting there

It’s an hour’s drive west from Madikeri town. Accurate details will be given at the time of booking.

things to do

Do absolutely nothing. But if you’re the sort that would like something to do, there are definitely some wonderful choices. Since this is the Western Ghats, we can promise an array of birdlife that will make you fall in love with the biodiversity of this place.

The dining area has a cute selection of books that you can enjoy without distractions.
If you have work that’s unavoidable, settle down with your laptop in one of the sit-outs, and get stuff done with a hot cup of coffee in hand.

Or, bring your family and spend some quality time, playing carrom, taking walks, or just engaging in a game of Scrabble.

Exploring this side of Coorg – you can check out the nearby temple or visit Chelavara Falls. Take a walk and sit by a stream that joins the Kavery river, or stroll past plantations to take in the smell of cardamom and pepper.
